Zouk was the first club I ever stepped foot in, and is right now, also the only club I frequent every week, on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The best Zouk experience has to be the first Mambo Jambo session where myself and my friends got lost in the sea of synchronised hand movement dancing all in the Zouk dancefloor. We were completely lost, but the music was so addictive, we were so sloshed on jugs and jugs of alcohol we just got sucked into the hand dancing, and from then on, we were completely addicted.
Every wednesday every week, we hit Zouk for our weekly dosage of Mambo Jambo, loving every single second of it. |

being at zouk will always be great experince.I guess i grew up with the club. But i must say the best experience will be hanging out with pals and meet new people exchanging ideas and conversation and getting pissed drunk at the Mtv Bar and then they have Balearic night.I miss those days and no words can explain to the vibe and people that i got to know and we are still friends till today hanging out at the same club but with a new experience and we still talk about those nostalgic days..Happy birthday Zouk _________________ one love , one aim. one destiny |

I have been in Singapore only for a few weeks and already I have become a regular to Zouk on fridays, My best experience has to be the first time I visited Zouk which is only a few weeks before, after having heard abt the best club in South East Asia for a long time, I was so keen to get there and check it out and my'o'my was I not disappointed that it stood up to its name. Great bunch of ppl, friendly staff, great dance arena, beautiful stand out areas on the side to have a drink and re-charge yourself before getting back into it...Loved it mate and great intro experience for a cool club. |

What's awesome about the Zouk Experience was getting in on Halloween the past two years. You betcha i'll be there more years to come.
The always warmly anticipated Costume contest where those super troopers who make their own costumes win for their creativity.
I always love the spirit of halloween, being in character along with friends in their other costumes.
From Primates, to spongebob, to Hongkong police men, Playboy bunnies and sexy faeries. Is there more we can ask for?
what is this zouk experience compared to treat or treating on the streets!

I still remember it like a lucid dream, my best night at zouk! My first night at zouk...
We walked in a little over 10pm to an ocean of energitic, jiving party-goers! My 6 new friends and I make our way through the sea of madness over to the bar, where we got drinks from a swanky barman who smile mostly because he couldn't hear what the orders that were been shouted to him! HA!
High and definately tipsy, we grooved our way to the dance floor and blasted our whackiness into high gear!
Song after song, we were hooked on Flava! The jamming music and smooth hits got us reeved up and going nuts! You could feel the energy flux in the hall of Phuture. When a slow beat came, the crowd died down to just mere swaying whispers, but when FLAVA came back on! EXPLOSIONS of dances of all sorts broke out!
The thrill of flava never left my viens, even when I rested in my bed that night. My 1st & best at Zouk!!! Hey, Pearle, Shu Pin, Sophie, Priscilla, Ryan! My friends till now, cause of Zouk! |

When I was 16, Zouk allowed us 16 year olds to run rampant on its dance floors. Of course, the caveat was that we had to have "non-alcoholic" stamps that deny us of alcoholic consumption.
It's been 16 years since, but I will always treasure with the fondest of hearts, MTV Bar and its awesome sing-a-longs of crowd favourites, U2's Numb, George Michael's If Papa Was a Rolling Stone, 4 Non Blondes's What's Up.
To the next 16 years. Cheers. |

Best Zouk experience would defineitely be the time when DJ Krush came over to Velvet Underground for a session. This was few years back. Totally dropped some awesome beats that made our Zoukers trippin' for more. Nuff said. Well done Zouk! Would love to see more of them international artistes! |

zouk has got to be the best clubs i've ever been to. even beating its big rival ministry. the crowd's always been good around zouk, and the atmosphere has got to be spectacular.. lightings and great sound system, nothing much to ask for.. my virgin club experience when i turned 18 was to zouk, mambo has got to be the sweetest experience of all. looking at all the seniors dancing the syncronised dance steps on top of the podiums, all the way from 12am to 3am, non-stop, its a wonderful experience.. i've got to know so many great friends from zouk, and it really has been an enriching part of my life! now that zouk's celebrating its sweet 16 anniversary, i guess there's no reason for me to not go for it!...
lastly, happy birthday zouk!!
hope i'll get invited too (: |

Well my experience of Zouk comes straight from the heart. It was the first time i went there on a saturday, reached pretty early though (abt 10).. Went around exploring the place - Zouk and Phuture and then It was all about a Few awesome drinks (esp. RUM) and just Soulful music which kept me Rocking throughout the night - was one of the last to leave when the club closed... I truly enjoyed every part of it and EVERY BEaT
SO I Just GoT 2 WORDS to SaY - ZOUK ROCKS |

one time in my life i let myself go and got drunk. People have gotten themselves smashed and sprawling on the floors multiple times, various occasions, different locations but not me.
Just that one time, i reached a limit i never knew my body could take, my body grooved for hours and hours from the start to the end of the U.N.K.L.E. I down-ed countless bottles of Heineken. I went up to strangers, shook their hands and danced with them. I waylaid other people's polaroid shots. Being drunk was like turning yourself round and round, looking through a kaleidoscope - the effect of the repetitive images, the swirls of colours, the shadows of moving bodies and the masses of faces that went unrecognized were drugging. Nothing mattered as long as people moved to the same rhythm i did. I was in harmony with the world!
I couldn't stop, i wouldn't stop. It stemmed from a desire to keep the night going. There has only been one time i let myself go and get lost and it was at Zouk. I was not scared. Instead .... I felt at home. |

OMG !!!! There's So many !!! should it be the night where DJB drop his housy beats with loads of Vocals or Aldrin excellent rapport with Maniam and had to yell to chase the crowd home.
Till date , the vibe of DT's 2003 gig still haunts me. although it wasn't a marathon set nor the music was played through a million dollars sound system and the cover charge cost SGD$38 ( Oki OKi .. I know it's dirt cheap for a DT gig). That night was good simply because of a good crowd and a good DJ. I still remembered DT had played , superstylin , two months off , vouge , white horse etc etc .... and teased the crowd with his SHinny Disco BALL Plus torch light ( sounds dodgy right ! but its fun). furthermore , DT promised the crowd that he would only stop if the police came . and Yes ! he lied.
I was partying with my good friend who is no longer in Singapore but whenever we chat in MSN .. we do talk about how good it was. |

well...what can I say that will secure me the coveted invite to Zouk's 16th bash...?
Tell you an unforgettable experience at Zouk?
Where do I begin...?
Thinking back on the previous years of all the different experiences at Zouk I cannot pick one that stands out.
They all do.
From unforgettable Guest DJs to filming a commercial shoot in the main room to spending countless hours in the afternoons with the choreographer screaming his/her head off preparing for an event to spinning at velvet for corporate events to selling all my clothes at flea and easy to dancing away nights after nights in a drunken stupor.
I shouldn't just get an invite, I should get a membership. |

Simce Chubby already mentioned the DT gig which is my favourite too, let me mention my next favourite gig. It was the Laurent Garnier gig in early March this year. LG's style is quite similar to DT's in many ways and they are both marathon DJs. Perhaps Zouk can consider having Laurent back for NYE for a change. |

The best experience i had at Zouk was when i went to Phuture on a Friday night and bumped into many friends, girls and guys alike. That paticular night of non-stop partying to the Dj and meeting this chick in the end was exceptionally good. Then some of the dudes headed over to velvet to get drinks and stuff and i was left with her alone and had my first conversation with her. All in all, even though it was a normal night of clubbing with no paticular main event going on, I had a good experience which i clearly remember to this day. |

Every trip at Zouk is a new experience for me. I still remember the first time i entered the clubbing scene was at Zouk on the first week i turned 18 It was MAMBO night and i was having fun and enjoying with a bunch of friends. It was an unforgettable good time! The vibe was positive, with a hypnotic mix of sights and sounds that makes people dance to the music. On mambo night, Zouk plays the best retro music which serenades my soul. Whenever my friends talk about which club is the best, i'll tell them Zouk because it makes me feels at home the most. Clubbing at Zouk is a blast! |

To me the best Damn. Good. Party. in zouk would be the Very Brit party last year. Having dressed up brit style, and listening to brit-rock and indie-chic music in a place where house music and hip hop's the norm is simply refreshing; you just don't find any sort of parties like this around town. Moreover, where else can you find sporting people who dare to dress up and party recklessly and headbang to brit bands like Keane and Stereophonics? The freeflow baileys, the bands, the idea of mashing brit-rock music in phuture simply makes up for a night where you could just throw yourself into abandon without care. *Only those who are fans of brit-rock can understand the euphoria of finally being able to dance to your favorite music with like-minded people while watching english footballer wayne rooney stomp the nuts of a portugal player during the world cup, all while sipping onto sweet baileys at the same time. I can't wait for the next Very Brit party to come up in Zouk... |

Its really weird but the very first (at least for me) visit to Zouk was when army mates and I went there after everyone cleared their SOC (and trust me, it wasn't easy because we had never touched it after 1 1/2 years of National Service) decades ago ... it was in a way, a male-mate bonding moment because I think that's the very first time we all even bothered to make the effort to arrange to meet in 1 spot as a company outside of the camp/miltary exercise. |

Been to many clubs since I was legal, but Zouk has always been my only favourite. (the big ang moh pai ones cant even compare)
Its where I spent my fab 18th birthday, where I downed my first tequila shot & whiskey dry, where I began my love affair with House & Trance, & where I met the friendliest & most awesome resident DJs who never fail to get me groovin' (usually even before I'm intoxicated).
It'll always be the club for me (& as corny as this sounds), I wanna be there for its 16th anniversary & for the ones to come.
Here's to Zouk, the Ultimate club in town. |

Ahhh... 16 huh...
Sweet 16 indeed... what wonderful days I had with you. The nice and Really Nice personalities I've encountered, the magical damages that has been done to my Lungs Liver and Pocket, not forgetting the melodious influence you have programmed into my Puny Brain.
And for all that, I love you. Really, I do. _________________ Gourmet & Fashionista (wannabe?) |

Best experience~~
for me it would be on the Wednesday of 9th of november 2005..
it was right after Zouk club's UPGRADING and my friend, who wanted to see the NEW zouk, brought along
her friend to introduce to me.
amazingly the friend was a mambo fanatic like i am..
we danced all night and even talked abt how come we
nv seem to recognise each other although we are regulars at mambo~
it has been 1 and a half years now since the upgrade..
and now my fiancee and I STILL and always remember the night at Zouk we both got to know each other...
Many thanks to the Upgrading!
P.S. we still club there every wed of the week!
Cheers~~

Simply put:
Zouk is the place i can imagine myself dancing my night away! The first club I've been too when I started my clubbing experience..no regrets that i'm still heading down to zouk/phuture/velvet - it beats any other clubs as i find myself drowning into the beats of the night and the nice tunes that i could groove along with my buddies - new & old!
Sweet sixteen - a junkie im not, a zoukie in the past, now and tmr! Cheerioz! |

wad... best Zouk experience? nah.. every Zouk nite is different. Like each is its own Best. great DJs. Beautiful crowd. quirky events. diversity. smashing... kudos to that. nonetheless, my choice would be the annual 'carnival like' ZoukOut. woohoo. Now who can disagree on that? Outdoors. Beach. Babes. Foodie. DJs fom all over Earth. live acts. n your frens. old pals. new frens. current peeps. madness.
its gonna be one helluva Saccharin Sixteen bash for Ms Zouk. hmm... or is it Mr Zouk...
I heart ZOUK! Happy Birthday............ |
