In 2011, djB, one of Zouk’s resident DJs, made his debut at Space Ibiza—ranked as no. 1 Club in the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs in the World 2012. Recognized as one of the rare talents and instrumental in pushing the House sound in Singapore and Asia, djB has no doubt made a name for himself. Last week, he returned to Spain for more—this time with DJ Eclipse, one of the freshest faces on the block. Eclipse also celebrates great success after being voted best DJ in several specialized publications in Singapore and having released a mixed album compilation with Universal Music just this March. On 5 June, we are extremely proud to have had our 2 resident DJs represent Zouk, Singapore and in fact the whole of Asia as they graced the decks of Space Ibiza. Tell us more about this event?

djB: It is our second year doing this event, and it’s basically to have Zouk presence in the Balearic island

Eclipse: Zouk taking over the world and showing the Europeans what Asians are capable of!!

How long did it take for you guys to prep for it?

djB: We are always prepared.

Eclipse: Always ready.

What else did you do while you were there?

djB: We club, we eat, we sleep and we beach.

Eclipse: Food, party, sightsee and living the Spanish lifestyle.

How does it feel to have represented Zouk and Singapore at the world’s #1 club?

djB: Honored.

Eclipse: Great pleasure.

You were accompanied by Layo & Bushwaka, Radio Slave and Oscar Cano. What was that like?

Eclipse: It was like a regular night at Zouk, just in Ibiza. Everything went smoothly. They were impressed and in need of some Asian flavor.

What is your fondest memory of the event?

djB: Being two of the very few Asians to play there.  And we got some crazy reactions from the crowd.

Eclipse: The amazing crowd!

Explain the experience in 3 words.

djB: Off the hook.

Eclipse: It was incredible.

How would you compare the clubbing scene there with what we get at Zouk/Singapore?

djB: Well, generally Ibiza is a party island, so people are there to party and with that, the dance floor is started almost the minute they hit the club. Something that never will happen in Singapore sadly.

Eclipse: There were guest DJs all over the island from Monday to Sunday like Tiesto, David Guetta, Luciano, etc. So the vibe you get over there is completely different. It feels like going for a festival every night!

Do you foresee more of these exchanges in the future?

Eclipse: Definitely.
